THIS YEAR 300 ACTORS WILL BE CHOSEN TO AUDITION FOR A WIDE RANGE OF CASTING REPRESENTATIVES THROUGHOUT THE STATE AND BEYOND!

Important Information:
These auditions are for ALL non-equity actors. We especially seek mature actors and minority talent. The number of slots available for student auditionees is limited. Student actors will be considered based on experience and the recommendation of a theatre professional/teacher.

The ITA auditions are for Non-Equity performers and are not sanctioned by any specific union.

Actor Fees

Gearing Up for the ITAs - An Auditon Clinic for Professional Actors Minimize
MOCK AUDITION CLINICS

NOTE: If you're interested in scheduling a clinic closer to you, and have access to a host facility that would be willing to provide us the space for three hours, please contact Aimee-Lynn at aimeelynn@illinoistheatre.org to make arrangements!

Description:

Each year the ITA hosts its Professional Auditions, where more than 300 auditionees are provided the opportunity to audition in front of a theatre full of Directors and Casting Representatives from throughout the state and beyond. This clinic will give you "insider information" about these auditions (from how applications are chosen to what to expect on the day of auditions) and focus on how you can make the most out of your 90 seconds on stage, including:
*your entrance onto the stage
*your introduction
*your choice of material
*your ability to connect to your audition pieces
*your exit

The clinic will also include a discussion on headshot/resume submissions and include helpful hints on how to best prepare for this very important audition. A select number of auditionees will be chosen to perform their audition pieces in front of the audience and will be given feedback by the facilitators. Musical theatre auditionees: an accompanist will NOT be provided. Be prepared to sing without music, or bring a CD with tracks on it. A CD player will be provided.

You don't have to be a participant in the ITA Auditions in order to attend this event. Parents are welcome to observe student auditionees!



Join the ITA Minimize

This year the ITA is pleased to offer auditionees a special ITA membership rate of $30 (individual membership is typically $60) – a savings of $30!  This offer is only valid to FIRST TIME ITA Members.  Returning ITA Members must renew at the regular rate of $60, or choose not to renew and pay the non-member audition registration fee.  Full-time Student Members may join the ITA for $15.
